Kenya - Uganda - Rwanda 2010 Meeting Report

Every time we go back to Africa we are blessed to be part of God’s ministry, and to also witness growth of the Church there in our absence, proving that the work of the Kingdom of God is indeed God’s work. The Church of God in Africa has grown to such an extent that the five weeks we had there was simply not enough to be able to meet the ministers from each congregation.

Our focus for the meetings this year was on the topic of Ordinances. This allowed us to outline the Old and the New Covenants, the reality of the New Testament as well as the opportunity to examine the various ordinances and uncover the spiritual reality for God’s people living under the New Covenant.

The message was rich and opened up the true meaning of the scriptures as it led the hearers to study God’s Word with the understanding that it is a spiritual book written for a spiritual people. As we came around God’s Word together it became clear to them that God is a spirit and can only be worshipped in spirit and in truth, and not in outward ceremonies or traditions. This understanding freed many of God’s people from the ritual that has bound many of them for so long.

Once again we spent some time in various regions around Kenya including Chuka, Mount Elgon and Maseno. From these small townships we had the opportunity to minister to visiting ministers from places such as Nairobi and Nakuru. It appears that the truth of the Church of God is spreading throughout Kenya and a network of congregations are appearing across the country.

This time we also ventured into some new ground as we travelled to Uganda and Rwanda, two places we had not been to before. It was encouraging for us to be greeted by several congregations with many new faces, the result of faithful men and women in Kenya bringing the message to God’s people across the border in Uganda. Some travelled long distances that they might hear the truth preached in Kampala and Tororo in Uganda.

As we set out for Rwanda we expected to find a ravaged and war-torn country bearing the scars of the 1994 Genocide, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a peaceful and relatively prosperous country. God’s hand was at work as Babylon opened her doors to us that we might minister the truth to God’s people and speak against her falsehood. Again, souls were set free and God’s people delivered from the clutches of false religion that plagues the African nations.

Pentecostalism is a strong hold in Africa but not too strong that it can’t be overcome. Our time in Africa has assured us again that God has a Church there and He is continually adding to it souls that are sincere in their desire to serve Him.

Mission Africa

We have been visiting and preaching in Africa since 2005. God's hand has moved mightly in that time with many congregations having been raised up in the Church of God in Kenya, Uganda and now Rwanda.
Donate A Motorbike
Many of the congregations of the Church of God in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are in remote country areas. The access is on dirt roads and tracks with little or no public transport
Donate A Laptop
We in the western world take much for granted. We have computers, laptops and now mobile phones with Bible programs. The ministers that we are working with in Africa have no such things.
