Mission Africa
Like Peter and John before us we have nothing of lasting or eternal value exceptthe wonderful truth of the Gospel that sets men free for sinning and sin to live in this world as a citizen of Heaven in perfect relationship with God as our Father. Acts 3:6
There is a common perception today that missions is the Church of God meetingmaterial or physical needs in the form of finances, etc. That certainly was the perception the lame man had.
Although we cannot turn a blind eye to those needs and help as we can, it is also important that we do not become the continual source of supplying those needs. It is clear that God Himself has claimed that responsibility as you can read in these scripture verse. Matthew 6:31-33; Philippians 4:19
Not one of us in the Kingdom of God should expect a lifestyle that we cannot ultimately work for, sustain and supply with the help of the Lord for ourselves and families. Ephesians 4:28; 1Timothy 5:8
I believe the primary role of missions is to help with the spiritual work of furthering and building the Kingdom of God.
The work is great and together we can be workers with God on a Continent that is being prepared for the harvest.
It is also important for us to state that we do not see ourselves as anything special, certainly not as an overseeing or dominant or "head" ministry. We do not believe that the "western culture" is to be exported through out the world as so many Babylonian church groups believe. The only "culture" we have to offer is that of the Kingdom of God.
We are simply one congregation of many in the Church that Jesus built.
